Come home...

Where is the mover... wind?
The sustenance… water, earth and sun?

Where is the celebration
for which the soul is free to dance?

They are silent to us
as we are silent and deaf to them.

In the rage of the undying flames,

the scorching heat of the sun,

the devastating winds and the waters that flood,

our own rage and destruction are reflected back to us.

When will we come home?

When will we find harmony with ourselves
and the earth from which we come?

Extremely grateful

 Extremely grateful,

how could I not be?

I look outside, at the sparkling sea

and all the beauty surrounding me,

then remember the moments I have to share

with those I love and show them I care

The happy times, the angry, the sad

All are not equal, but all are not bad.

I've had a full life

and it wouldn't be right

to simply forget 

or to hold it tight.

I'm grateful
and I've got to let go

of what I've been given 

to others bestow.

A full life it can only be

when I give back what's been given to me.

The Journey

 A stone, a rock, a stumbling block;

you trip, you fall, and sometimes stop.

You want to feel,

but not the pain.

You don't want sorrow;

just the gain.

 But in the darkness of your fear

a light can suddenly appear...

 

A little sign, a spark of hope

to guide you on and help you cope.

The sun is ever shining still

beyond the clouds above the hill.

 Each step you take

through pain you feel

reminds you
that the journey's real 

So... seize that rock and cry those tears.
Then climb that peak and face those fears

Remember that the hills you climb

once were mountains in your mind.

 It's all before you

now you see:

embrace your journey
and be free!

True Happiness

The thing about dreams is, 

when we think about obtaining them, 

we envision ourselves being happier as a result of 

finally having the thing we’ve wished for for so long.

But, in reality, true happiness comes 

through a change of heart.

Change of circumstances can offer

 a bit of breathing space, 

but not quite enough to sustain us in the long run.

For true peace and inner happiness, 

a change  must happen from within.
This will not be a sudden change, 

from one moment to the next. 

Rather, it’s a gradual shift in perception as we choose, again and again, to pursue a path of love, 

forgiveness and acceptance of each other and ourselves and the long, persistent cultivation of 

an attitude of gratitude.

I want to cry

I want to cry for all that’s lost

For a perfect paradise lost

For clean air and water, lost

For exotic creatures, lost

For trust and compassion, lost

For love and passion, lost

For a naive dream, lost

For innocence and kindness, lost

For the companionship I had, lost

For the tears I cannot cry, lost

For the the future that may not be 

And for all of humanity

I want to cry.

And then I want to believe.

I want to dream and have hope.

Because, the chasm before us 

is so great,

The next step forward 

is a leap of faith.

Mostly

I live in a mostly beautiful place

With mostly nice weather 

Where the people are mostly lovely.

And most of the time,

I am a mostly loveable person. :)

Walls surround you,

troubles abound,

far from home,

not safe, nor sound. 

 

Choose your path,

seek the light.

Fear no darkness,

evil or fright.

Onward now

from where you've been!

Follow the light,

there's strength within!

 

 

 

 

Silent Prayer

The earth is speaking,

The waters roar,

The wind is whisp’ring

O’er the shores.

But are we listening?

Do we care?

The voice of wisdom’s

Silent prayer

Imploring us

To just slow down

And see the beauty 

All around.

Our restless souls
In dire need
Of peace within.
Let us take heed

‘Fore it’s too late
And we’ve missed out
On what this life
Is all about.

Morning Gratitude

Thank You

For the cool wind

Blowing fresh from the sea

For the bright morning sun

Smiling back at me

For the sweet flower scents

Awakening my soul

With the promise of

This new day!

The Dream We share

Like the sailer who sets sail

To step out on shores unknown

With nothing but the stars

To guide his path alone...

So we step out in faith

Dreamers, yet not alone.

Many storms to face,

 Mountains to climb

On this quest to find our home.

Terrified, excited

Hopeful and scared.

But we have each other

And a whisper of a prayer

We’ll play hard

And endure

And go where others do not dare.

Now let’s rise and face our fears

And pursue the dream we share!
