When my heart and mind
in harmony are aligned,
there is no room for fear,
and doubt is left behind.
Even butterflies
need to land
in order to rest.
Breathe deep,
relax your wings and
let the wind carry you.
And many days,
you will spin and twirl,
do pirouettes in the sky!
But there will be days
that feel heavy, you'll forget
how to rise from the ground.
On those days, keep faith!
For although you're just learning
and your wings you have only just found,
the truth is,
you have always been free,
to expand, to soar and roam,
and the endless, open sky
has always been
your home.
No more
putting yourself down.
No more
greeting yourself with a frown.
'You are beautiful!'
I say.
'How graceful
you navigate each day.'
I know you still carry
much pain, my Dear.
But how bravely
you face your every fear.
You play, you explore,
you adventurous Girl!
The world is your dance floor,
you spin and you twirl.
You turn every challenge
into your gain.
No holding back,
you dance in the rain!
And one day, you'll see
that in the end
you have been
your own best friend.
Is she the scared child
who climbs a high tree to escape and feel safe?
Is she the fearful girl
with downcast eyes who asks permission?
Is she the young maiden
who seeks to please to hold the peace?
Or has she finally remembered?
Has she remembered
that she has always been safe?
Has she remembered
that she needs no one's approval, but her own?
Has she remembered that she
is free to express, to dance, to play, to simply be?
Yes, she is me.
Remembering.
And she is free.
The darkness
never held you.
You dance under open skies!
In the darkness,
only starlight as her guide,
no one to watch her,
no cause to shrink or hide.
Music in her ears,
no other human sound,
she spins, she jumps, she twirls,
her feet kissing the ground.
not always knowing
where to go,
I follow my soul,
I hear her voice.
To shrink or expand
is a choice.
So upwards and onwards
I will go.
Fall or rise,
I'll grow into flow.
Why not
open up?
Why not
embrace life
with all its pain
and all its joy?
Tread through
the murky waters,
swim through
the dark unknown,
then emerge
through the light
with a gasp
and a scream,
having come
through this life,
through darkness
reborn!
I see your beauty
and what is true.
Some days, I look
and what I see
is anxiety's stories
distracting me,
and my feelings
and fears cloud what is real.
Yet truth is not found
in what I feel.
Light enters in
through parts that are broken,
and darkness is held
with love that's unspoken.
Beauty, distorted,
though ugly it seems,
can show what needs healing
with golden seams.
Some days, I see it,
love's magic spell,
holding us, whispering:
"All will be well."
To hold sacred
that which holds life,
to
speak words for the voiceless,
to
paint pictures with syntaxes,
great
ribbons that shape meaning
out
of floating stars of truth.
Perhaps WE are the true voiceless,
a race of humans who have forgotten
the
speech of our own native tongue,
wandering
within echo chambers
of
self-inflicted fear and destruction
where
all wisdom has been lost.
But
children's laughter
awakens us from
this spell
and
the memory of water
carries freedom for our souls.
I
will speak truth
where her voice has been silenced.
I
will share beauty
where
our eyes have gone blind.
I
will dance the rhythm of the Earth
and
sing the hymn of the sea.
Will
you dance with me
and
let our feet remember
the
drumbeat of the Earth?
Will
you sing with me
and
let our voice carry
the song of healing and
rebirth?
In this life
I will learn to
feel it all.
I will rise,
I will stumble,
and I will fall.
I will find
the beauty
through the pain.
I will feel
the warm sun
after the rain.
I will grow
and expand,
I will learn how to fly.
In this life
I will live
before I die.
The path that you walk
is a red carpet
rolled out for royalty,
you really are
safe, loved, and free
to just be...
Life doesn't expect
you to suffer,
toil or strive,
you're allowed
to simply stop,
and enjoy being alive...
'The wound is where
the light enters'
turns out to be true,
and in the end,
it's okay
to just be you.
The sun sets and rises
over us all.
Together, we rise,
together, we fall.
All have a shadow.
All reflect light.
Together, we hold on
through the dark night.
